Ambulatory surgery centers represent one of the most significant opportunities to improve surgical access, quality, and affordability in Puerto Rico. Hospital-based outpatient surgery carries substantially higher facility fees and longer patient wait times than ASC-based alternatives—costs that flow through to payers, employers, and patients. Physician Partnership Model

Physician ownership is central to the Alianza ASC model. We structure each center to maximize physician equity participation while providing the management infrastructure that allows surgeons to focus on their patients. Participating physicians receive detailed financial reporting, joint governance rights, and access to Alianza’s centralized supply chain and group purchasing arrangements. Our model is designed to be transparent and aligned—physician success and Alianza success are inseparable.

Operational Excellence

Alianza manages day-to-day ASC operations through a standardized playbook developed across multiple facilities. Clinical quality programs, infection prevention protocols, staff training, equipment maintenance, and accreditation management are all handled centrally, ensuring each center meets or exceeds AAAHC and CMS standards. Supply chain management through our GPO relationships delivers meaningful cost reductions without compromising on the implants, instruments, and disposables that surgeons and patients depend on.

Integration with Value-Based Care

ASCs in the Alianza network are fully integrated with our primary care and MSO infrastructure. Surgical case data flows into MyChron, enabling post-operative care management, medication reconciliation, and follow-up coordination by the patient’s primary care team. This integration reduces readmissions, prevents post-surgical complications, and closes the loop between surgical and longitudinal care—delivering the kind of coordinated, accountable outcomes that value-based payers reward.
