Job Description

For physicians ready to bring their training, language, and care back to Puerto Rico, a chance to become a bridge between need and healing across the island's communities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care across ambulatory and community settings as a member of Alianza's physician network
  • Build longitudinal relationships with patients and families who have gone too long without consistent care
  • Collaborate with care managers, behavioral health specialists, and primary care colleagues on complex cases
  • Engage with the MyChron population health platform for panel management, risk stratification, and care gap closure
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with value-based care contracts
  • Contribute to rebuilding the island's medical workforce by mentoring trainees and supporting community programs
  • Practice in Spanish and English, meeting patients in the language and culture they trust

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school, board certified or board eligible in your specialty
  • Active Puerto Rico medical license or willingness to obtain within 90 days (Alianza handles the paperwork)
  • DEA registration and ability to obtain Puerto Rico controlled substance registration as applicable
  • Bilingual English/Spanish. Fluency in Spanish is essential for the patients you will serve
  • Commitment to value-based, longitudinal care and to practicing in Puerto Rico for the long term
  • Cultural fluency with Puerto Rican and broader Hispanic patient populations
